I meant the flight lol. Not walking outside your house and watching it. Huge PR stunt.

Flying to DFW that morning. No rental cars available to drive to my friend's ranch out east, but it'll be 99% total from the parking decks.

DFW airport is in the path of totality. It's not 99%.

I will be flying to DFW on the day and just stay at the airport or might just take the train downtown to a park. I love such cosmic spectacles.

I was referring to the flight also, lol. It's a great view, if. The problem is there's too many ifs.

I flew to Nebraska to see the eclipse in 2017, but it was cloudy that day. :(

I really hope they have a Christmas eve flight that follows the path of santa.

Anyone who is close enough to see this, just understand, 95-99% compared to 100% is LITERALLY Day and Night difference. Get yourself into the path of 100% totality, you won't regret it.

...and the closer you are to the center of the path of totality, the longer you will enjoy the total eclipse of the sun.

And my house is within 10 miles of the center. My neices house is exactly on the center line.

I'll be on a flight DTW - PVG, well north of the center of totality, instead of at home, where I would have been right in the center.

Sorry to hear that. Where did you fly from?

You can likely walk those ten miles faster on that day than most people will be able to drive them.

I experienced that between Wilmington NC and somewhere in SC during 2017. By the way, I'm never allowed back in South Carolina... thanks to a certain other FTer...

Cleveland, so we’ll be in the path of the one this year.

I am still over the four-minute mark so I am good. Having said that, I was in Charleston the last time and I thought the concerns were a little overstated. This one hits so many major cities that I think it will spread the crowd out somewhat.
