DL's Tokyo- USA flights thru 8/16: zero Y seats.

From an airline point of view, things are doing well with DL's summer Japan schedule. While we bought our tickets a few weeks ago when I noticed prices rising and availability dwindling, I have really never seen this: For the next 8 days, Delta has completely zeroed out ALL flights from TYO (to MSP, LAX, SEA, ATL, DTW) in economy, and Comfort+, and most flights also aren't selling Premium Select. You CAN fly to the USA, though, for around 1,000,000 yen ($7,000) one way in D1, but not on every day.
(It's not a shock, though, since this week is the Japanese Obon festival, one of only 3 weeks of the year that traditional Japanese companies allow their employees to take vacation days (or, at least frown less upon it). But this seems like a special year.
FWIW, I was thinking that, only looking at my HND-ATL flight (6:25PM departure on Friday 8/11), being completely zeroed out in all classes, I'd volunteer for VDB at the checkin counter and imagine it is oversold.
But maybe DL has pre-emptively stopped selling on all TP flights so fewer overbookings occur? As of this moment, the next day that DL has ANY seat in Economy or Comfort+ for sale is next Wednesday August 16th when you can get an Economy ticket via MSP to ATL for "only" $3000 one way.
I'll update when we arrive to the USA.
Thoughts?

DL276 still has decent P availability after 8/10 (P5 P7 P9 P9 P9 P9). But, yeah, these flights look pretty full otherwise. DL296 was cancelled on Saturday which probably didn't help situation. Note that all C+ fares are dual inventory fares on these routes. If there is no inventory in Y, you won't be able to purchase a C+ fare even if there is inventory in W. Here is most expensive W fare on HND-DTW.

Interesting replies! Hadn’t considered the typhoon, though these flights were zeroed out more than a week ago. So with this combination I should try to ride a VDB train for a few days! 😂
