Unedited graphic content on IFE screens
I have always assumed Delta's in-flight entertainment showed versions of movies like those edited for TV which filter out nudity, graphic violence, etc. However, I looked up at an inopportune time and saw a scene of nudity on my seatmate's screen. It was relatively tame as far as today's standards go, but I still do not want to be exposed to softcore pornography on a flight.

I think your question contains the answer - yes, I'm sure Delta screens the movies they show on planes for lewd/etc content but clearly whatever you happened to glance at and be offended by, passed some type of screening by someone at Delta. That said, I'd suggest you leave a comment/feedback on their site if you want an actual answer from Delta.

I have noticed this phenomenon on a few flights in recent years, including Delta and American. It seems that both of these airlines show R rated movies essentially unedited. This seems like a change from maybe 10 years ago

An R rated film is not soft core pornography. That said, if one does not want to possibly be exposed to something don't look at someone's screen whether it be their IFE screen or computer screen.

In my experience, the movies are often edited to remove some of the more intense scenes or blur certain items out. That said, I don't know that they edit TV shows from HBO or Showtime. As always YMMV.

On a more serious note, I'm glad they're not treating their passengers like children. If people don't want to see something, then they shouldn't watch it. Leave the rest of us out of it.
Also, I'm pretty sure I've watched Curb and Always Sunny episodes on DL in the past. That latter show - talk about NSFW. So hilarious, though.

Thank god AA shows unedited films. If there is an R rated TV on a cable network at home (USA, TNT etc) I won't even think of watching it (e.g. Hall Pass was on USA few weeks ago. Why would anyone even watch this film edited? stupid).

Two weeks ago on a couple of transcon flights I watched season 1 of Yellowstone. It was shown unedited with nudity. I was a little surprised. In my experience DL does not edit out language or violence in movies, but this was the first time I've seen nudity. There is a parental advisory before any program on DL's IFE, but that's it. The language and violence don't bother me, but it was a little odd seeing the nudity.

If you don't want to see it on someone else's screen, don't look at someone else's screen.

Yeah they don't edit anything. If it's suitable for the movies, TV, it's suitable for IFE,
I stumbled on a Starz show on this way that would have been R or NR with gratuitous sex scenes, saw the first few episodes on board and then finished out the season on the ground.
