New Delta COO

Mike Spanos, comes from six Flags and previously PepsiCo. I think this position was empty for awhile.

I didn't realize that Pepsico owned Six Flags.

I wonder whether he will try to shop the soft drink "pouring rights" to Pepsi.

Anyhow, as one former Annapolitan to another, I wish Mike the very best.

I heard about him. He have no airline experience. Zero! He never have any airlines jobs before. He's actually don't know how he can do it. This isn't a good idea.

this may very well end up being bastian’s last big move at delta if it fails.

One of Bastian's last hiring decisions, the "Chief Strategic Officer", blew up in Ed's face as his hire ended up working for a competitor.

I'd have to believe that Ed consulted with the Board of Directors before hiring Spanos. Leo Mullin had no prior airline experience, right? I think he came to Delta from Commonwealth Edison and was a banker before that. Look how that turned out.

Six Flags is not owned by Pepsico. And the odds of shopping the "pouring rights" to Pepsi is unlikely considering Coca Cola and Delta both call Atlanta home...

Given that one of the regional VPs for Pepsi became six flags ceo in 2019, yet they just renewed their strategic partnership with coke… I’m not concerned.

Yet they are better than almost every airline out there in most metrics.

I'm not sure why DL would want to bring anything from Six Flags into their operations.

Well, UA brought it a Comcast 😱 exec to run Mileage Plus, so it could be worse!

From the Airline Pilot Central sister forum to FlyerTalk:
He has amusement park experience. That’s relevant to the operation sometimes.

Honestly I think that the Six Flags meal plan could well appeal to some passengers: sign up for the right credit card pay a fee and get a free snack pack or adult beverage on flights with service.

DL might be planning to revamp the Safety Video with this theme.
