I wasn't expecting a quick response from my email to delta, but weeks later still haven't heard a peep. This topic has been on the front page of Delta flyer talk for weeks. It also was featured on the rene blog. Surely Delta atleast should be tuned in to what people are saying. This is a tough one. Change happens all the time. But it's hard to accept change that brings no improvements and only causes problems.

They spent a lot of time and money on this (terrible) update. The issues that we all have are fundamental to the new design. If they are going to even attempt to address our concerns, it’s going to be a while.

Technically, they could just roll it back. The odds of this happening are 0.00% since this would be an admission that several layers of management are woefully incompetent and wasted a few million dollars on this garbage. Also that their work significantly degrades their most frequent customers’ experience with Delta.

None of this will happen.

Also, another new bug…. Manually added itineraries (if you’re tracking a family member’s trip for example) sometimes disappear when opening the app. Eventually they pop back in but when they do they displace one of “your” trips, causing that one to disappear. Solid code.

I've found that the app keeps using stale data - whenever I log back in, recent flights don't show up until I 'refresh' the my trips. It keeps showing the last update as of 5/1 until I refresh it... every time I open/use the app.

Still haven't been able to get to a purchase confirmation screen since the app overhaul. Every time I purchase an itinerary in the app, I get an error message and then have to refresh My Trips to make sure that the transaction went through.

Not sure if it's mentioned, but when selecting changing a seat on a specific leg ofa trip (in the app, on iphone), it default opens the first leg of that trip. Very annoying because when click on that specific flight it is because I intend to change that specific flight, not the first leg of the entire trip. Not to mention that seems to take much longer to load seat maps than it did before.

This thing is a total mess. It took me 15 minutes to get the DL app to refresh.. keeps reverting back to old data from May 1st and just sits there spinning when I try to update my trips.

Booked a flight on the full website, had upgrades checked during booking process and then when I looked at my trip after, upgrade requests were all unchecked. Got an error when I tried to check the upgrade boxes along the lines of 'Your request cannot be processed at this time'. Tried the app, and could not find anywhere on there in the dozens of menus to request upgrades after booking.

Had to call in and have an agent put in the medallion upgrade requests. Sad

Forget about the app. It's completely FUBAR'ed. When on mobile just use the website.

This is true. I absolutely can not rely on the app to be accurate anymore. Whether it's checking itineraries, day of travel, making new bookings - none of it can be relied on. It's all cached, out of date, and woefully bugridden. The website is still somewhat reliable.

But hey you get gigantic pretty cards with random photos of the place you may or may not be going to. Yay.

This update has to be to cater to the casual flyer who likes to see images of their location. The fact it took me a few days to find the Upgrade/Standby list just recently when wanting to check if I need to buy FC or theres a shot I'll get upgraded. Why the hell is that under "Improve your experience"? In-fact, why are two options under a whole separate tap I have to do, just put it under the other 3 options. On my return trip I don't see any option to check that upgrade list either.

The pictures I can live with. It's the excessive white space and having to tap all over the app. The meal selection process is totally screwed not too. The hardest thing to accept is that the last version of the app was atleast acceptable. They've gone in reverse for no perceivable gain at all.

I am glad I do not fly Delta much. Have a flight tonight and need a "Delta App for Dummies" manual.
Only clicked it wrong 3 times before I found the right page (with my flights)!

This thing is a hot mess! My app would also use stale data from quite a few days ago, so my latest bookings wouldn’t show up unless I manually “refresh”, which often takes FOREVER to complete. The new UI is a much worse experience than the previous version with so many clicks all over the place. And what’s up with all the bright white background? If they are so inclined, at least give me a choice for dark mode (my preference on Apple products).

When I sent in a note, I got a form letter saying expect 30days before a response! Jeez.
