Is premium select likely to drop?

Have a flight 148 days out. It's a bit over 12 hours from ICN to MSP. Delta is looking for 650 to go from Comfort + to Premium Select.. The premium select cabin is totally empty I'm wondering if that's likely to drop as the flight gets closer?

Are the meals in PS pre-ordered or same as main cabin? BTW, I upgraded to PS from Comf+ for $300 each way MSP-HND return.

You can't pre-order, but they are no longer the same as main cabin meals.

Its hard to say. Best advice I can offer is if its an acceptable price to you, go ahead and book upgrade.

I flew MSP-ICN in PS Pre-Covid and the seat was comfortable. $650 upgrade would be the most Id pay for it though, especially with how they have cheapened the experience since Covid. Would rather spend the money towards D1.

Not bad at all! Thanks very much. I paid $600 for upgrading from Comf+ to Premium for the return flight.

650 does feel like a bit more than I wanted to pay. If the PS stays empty closer to flight time I would imagine at some point they will drop the price. If not I'll have to come on flyer talk and whine about Comfort+ I mean be happy that I got what I paid for!

Drop in what sense?

It can hardly drop further than it already is, which is just coach with a bigger seat.

Maybe. What are the fare buckets availability like? That is a true view of booking metrics. Looking at seat maps may be a crap shoot as not everyone ticket has a seat selected (before some says something about Delta will auto-pick a seat for you, not everyone books through Delta sales channels).

Revenue management may not have tinkered with fare buckets this far out. Usually people booking far out have inflexible schedule, Delta and other carriers know this, and purposely leave fares untouched.

If you have a purchased C+ fare, fare difference can potentially be around $520 each-way (roundtrip C+ fares start at $910 each-way vs. $1430 each-way for PS G fares). You don't have to upfare in both directions (you chose PS in one direction and C+ in the other and still qualify for the cheaper roundtrip fares). The advantage of an upfare to PS, instead of an online seat upgrade, is that you can potentially apply a Mileage Upgrade Award and get a D1 upgrade. You can generally upfare online by going through "Change Flights" option.
