Beverage Choices

I posted this as a reply on another thread, but figured probably better to make its own thread:

If I am reading it correctly on the Delta Website, any flight under 500 miles, Economy will not get choice of non-alcholic beverage? Only Water, Tea and Coffee? Also Comfort+ will only get water, tea, coffee beer or wine? Is this correct? Thanks

Flights 251-499 Miles
  • All passengers on flights over 251+ miles will be able to enjoy our snack selection (sweet/savory).
  • Coffee, tea, and 8oz bottled water will be available in all cabins.
  • Delta Comfort+ and First Class customers will receive complimentary beer and wine service.
  • Other beverages, including Coca-Cola mini cans, juices, and mixers will be available for First Class customers.

A lot about the page seems inaccurate/outdated; for example, none of the domestic sections mention "spirits," which are still available either complimentary (first class, C+) or for purchase (main)

Correct that coffee, tea and water are the only choices for Main Cabin on 251-499 mile flights.

Agreed, this has been my recent experience for flights 251-499 miles for Main Cabin. For Comfort+, they also offer Beer and Wine (but no spirits).

Ok so no soda or juices on Main Cabin nor Comfort+ for 251-499 miles. That seems strange, they will give comfort+ wine or beer but no coke, or juice LOL

You can get soda/juice in C+ , just ask. Happens all the time on ATL-RDU.

this is not a given. I’ve been denied every time I ask for a Coke Zero in C+ on flights like ATL-MCO. But beer? Heck ya! Stupid and backwards on delta’s part!

Wait, Delta still isn't doing full beverage service in economy?

AA has been doing normal beverage service in economy for a while now. Even on regional jets.

This thread is about segments under 500 miles.

Agreed. I've asked on at least four flights and never received the requested soda. They always say they don't have soda. I realize this is inconsistent with the website which says such requests will be honored if time permits.

Accommodating special requests on express flights is at the discretion of the crew time permitting, so it’s not guaranteed.

That being said, whether or not a particular flight has express service often seems up to the whimsy of the crew.

Where can one find a list of spirits offered (when they are offered?) I've look on DL.COM, but can't seem to find that list.

catering for express service is very different from normal catering. Express carts only have small waters, beer, and wine along with 2 snack options. We add coffee and tea to the top.

not sure where that info can be found, but I sure wish they would bring back CANADIAN CLUB and though I am not a scotch drinker, it seems a scotch choice should be part of the beverages offered.
