GUC waitlist Priority Question
I have a miles ticket that was purchased last week and have a GUC applied and wait listed and have Diamond status. Companion has paid ticket via delta Amex card booked in April with silver status. If I apply a GUC will they clear ahead of me because their ticket was booked before mine or no because their certificate was added after mine. I dont know if it makes a difference but while they are separate reservations they are linked whatever that means.

Before DoD, it goes by time of application. DoD it follows normal medallion upgrade hierarchy.

Ok thank you that explains it. Last time they applied my certificates to their reservation a couple days before I bought mine and I was shocked that as a silver they got it and I didn't since there was only 1 seat left

How can you apply a GUC to someone else's ticket before you are ticketed on the same flight? This violates the exception to GUCs/RUCs being nontransferable.
