Flight showing 3 hours early a week out?

This trip has been through the schedule change shuffle just about every week. SEA-SLC-JAC on 3/13. The first leg was supposed to depart Seattle at 4:15 but now shows a different flight number and 1:35 departure. I’ve called a few times and heard everything from the 4:15 flight is going to be canceled to everything’s fine and show up at 3:00.

It's Schedule Change Saturday. Wait a few hours and see what it shows. Delta doesn't typically change flights only one week out, even in the COVID-era, so my guess is it's a bug.

DL2189 is 1:35PM flight. DL2209 is the 4:15PM flight and is still bookable. Were you originally booked on that flight? Presumably, you are connecting to DL1759 at 8:25PM (which is also still bookable). As noted above, a schedule change is unlikely at this point and both of these flights are operating with the exact same times and exact same equipment (739's) as today's flights. Further, they've been operating with same flight nums and equipment and roughly same departure times for several months now.

I booked Delta 2209 on January 25th. This is the third schedule change Saturday in a row the system has automatically rebooked me on 2189, leaving me with a four hour layover. Each week I have called to switch back to the flights I booked. I am hesitant to switch back a fourth time in case 2209 really isn't operating. Every agent saying something different doesn't give me a lot of confidence.

Perhaps the later flight is oversold and they need some pax off? For whatever reason, the Delta computer system really doesn't want me on that flight.

I had a flight on 3/31 go "STATUS NOT AVAILABLE" today. No obvious schedule change yet but my limited experience with this is it sometimes means there's an equipment change coming in the weeks ahead....
