Delta Skymiles Member Counts
Does anyone have any data around how many Delta annual passengers fall into the following buckets? Apologize if there's a thread already on this. I've searched and cannot find anything...
Non-Skymiles or General Skymiles
Silver
Gold
Platinum
Diamond & Above
Thanks in advance.

There can be no educated guess.
At the minimum, SM membership is not limited to U.S. residents only. Because of NW, there are quite a number of members outside the U.S. (Hence, MQD waiver).
Just because of that, any guesses will be highly inaccurate.

There were estimates/rumors around the time of the PMNW/PMDL merger, when DM was first introduced. At that time IIRC the stats were roughly 80,000,000 members total, of whom 2,000,000 were elites (FO or above). DM was originally targeted to be a percentage of elites and I was told on "opening day" that there were about 40,000 charter DMs, but people have later estimated/guessed that the number now is much larger, perhaps 75,000.

Interestingly, there was an old thread (20+ years!) wondering about this - there's a couple data points in there over the years, but mostly seems to end up back at the "it's proprietary data, unless you know someone in the CIA" answer - Just How Many SkyMiles Medallion Members Are There?
Circa 2014, for the general SkyMiles program there were "92 million worldwide members, including nearly seven million members in Asia." - https://news.delta.com/skymiles-fact-sheet-0
It'd be interesting to know if the relative percentage of FO/GM/PM/DMs has stayed pretty consistent over the years, or if that's changed a lot. (Some of the guesses in the posts above, if in the right ballpark, would suggest that DMs have become a larger share over time if).

Welcome to Flyertalk.
I've also heard the 100K number for DMs but this was a few years ago. It's very hard to even have an educated guess because there are many medallions who didn't earn the status flying (corporate status through agreements/match, status given by other family members, etc).
