SJC closed 2/28?

Hey folks, at the gate in SJC and the gate agent just announced ATL is closed and we can't board but no more info.

Not seeing anything on Twitter. Any ideas?

Looks like it was an emergency landing.

Flightaware says:

"San Jose Int'l is experiencing delays

  • all inbound flights being held at their origin until Friday at 01:00PM PST due to a disabled aircraft on a runway"
Maybe kindly show the GA the message on flightaware??

Just a heads up, this was due to an emergency landing at SJC. Piper with no landing gear.

Plane landed safely with no gear.
SJC had a full ground stop.

I'm not expert on a lot of things, but I am pretty confident that a "belly-up" landing would have involved the plane landing upside down...

I think he pulled up a little too much on that flare, as you can see it starts to roll to the right and then slams on the runway. Glad everyone is OK! As they say, any landing you walk away from is a good landing.

He flared too high and stalled it, but it's hard to second guess him, the pressure and adrenaline must've been really high.
