Does Delta ever read second emails?

I have been wondering about this for some time. In my experience if I submit a support email on Delta.com (for example for missing mileage credit on a partner flight), they are pretty good about getting back to me within a few days. However, if their initial email response suggests that I should reply to them to provide additional information -- for example if I haven't given all the required documentation up front -- and I reply to the email I received, in my experience those second emails from me have NEVER, as far as I can recall, gotten read or received a further response. I always just go back to the website and submit a new request in such situations. Is this standard?

I got mileage credit for a VA segment once... eleven weeks after replying with more documentation and long after I had forgotten about it

I replied to the response email not too long ago and received a reply within 24 hours. Should not need to go back and submit again to dl.com. Just reply to the email.
