Depends on when your flight is: If it is a long time out, they typically process it three months prior to the flight. However, it shows as upgraded in the reservation right after clearing, even if it is more than three months out.

Sounds like the other leg was not available at the time. It will process later if a seat does become available or it will be reflected in the upgrade list before your flight. Good luck.
