APIS for Delta

Usually I can input my pasaport info on a reservation anytime between the reservation is booked and the time for checkin. Apparently I cannot do that for a Delta reservation. Am I just not getting it or it's the way Delta reservations work ( i.e. no APIS info ahead of time). I am sure someone could point to me how this works. Thank you.

72 hours?

Isn’t APIS locked at 72 hours? When are you flying?

DL doesnt do passport information before checkin. Some airlines let you add it before, others only add it during checkin.

You can add your passport info to your profile. You will still need to verify it at check in at a kiosk or with an agent.

My last DL check-in intl flight, I was surprised that the print-at-home BP had the DOCS-OK endorsement on it. And I wasn’t asked to show passport except at boarding.
