Earlier this year I flew next to a guy and the FA came and thanked him for being a 10 million miler...
He spent the flight looking up hookers in Atlanta. So, not exactly George Clooney.
I just hit my Million Miler this week in 10 years of business travel and SkyMiles membership. Still relatively young compared to lots of folks here at least, so not sure where I'll end up. Could hit 2MM in another 6-8 years at my current rate. I have another 30 years of working to go, but as much as I love the travel, not sure if I will do 30 more solid years of it. Who knows. Ugh, all that is depressing any way you look at it.
Anywho... I tweeted Delta about hitting my million in hopes they might do something, but didn't want to expect anything. I was right to do so. All I was given was my permanent spot at number 1 of a huge upgrade list with no seats in FC available on either of my flights that day.
And my thank you gift? A wallet from Tumi. A wallet... thanks for your generosity Delta. Giving them $250k+ spend of my company's (and my) money over the years and I can get a wallet to store the money I will continue to dish out to Delta.
So much for the good ol' days of HVC appreciation.

As someone with 3M UA, 2.9M AA and 1.6M DL, I just wish I had consolidated early :-).

His computer...
I wasn’t paying attention until my co-worker who was seated behind and across from him texted me of her disgust.
After that that it was hard to miss. He spent over an hour searching escorts and Craig’s list.

There are other undesirable options as well. But after years of having Tumi bags as an option for a Million Miler gift, I was hoping to be able to choose one. Instead I was greeted by a wallet and toiletry bag.

Really? It's been about 5 years, but I remember there being a choice and I picked the Hartmann leather rolling carry-on bag, which is still sitting in the box unopened (have been thinking of selling on eBay, but only if worthwhile monetarily). I might use it someday once the Samsonites of the same size bought at thrift stores wear out.

I like the Hartmann luggage- chose it for both 1mm and 2mm. On my 2mm flight (domestic) a few months ago, FA's recognized me, made an announcement, and presented me with two cake pops in chocolate sauce (1 for each mm), and a card signed by the crew. I'm not big on that stuff, but my wife was with me, and she got a kick out of it!
