When does my status actually take effect?

When does my status actually take effect?
So I crossed over the Gold threshold a couple days ago. My current status still shows Silver, but my 2019 Status: FEB 01 2019 — JAN 31 2020 is Gold. Do I really have to wait until then to be Gold? Or is this delay normal. Never had such a think on AA or UA.

Your status takes effect the day after the activity posts. Thus if you pull up the detail in my delta it'll show something like this (today being Dec 14)
2019 Statu 1Feb19-31Jan20 Gold
2018 Status 1Feb18-14Dec18 Silver
