Gate upgrade error?

Gate upgrade error?
Hi,

I have flight DL2248 LGA to ATL on JUN 3rd.

I'm on flight now.

There was 3 empty FC, I (PM) was 3rd of 25 and my companion (co worker, general skymiles member, same confirmation number with me) was 4th of 25.

I was waiting gate upgrade, but I couldn't get upgrade, because my coworker got upgrade.

How general skymiles member get upgrade? Even PM didn't get upgrade.

So, I tweet this, they said that was system error.

Have you guys seen this error before?

I can't believe Delta's upgrade system anymore.

when youre in the same record, you guys clear at the same priority. Since everything else is the same, the person with the earlier ticketing time wins.

Yes, I know we were in same priority, but I was 3rd, he was 4th on upgrade list. He was only cleared. Not me.

Strange, every time I have been in this situation the GA will typically call me up and ask me if we want to split or stay together. You should have gone to the GA to fix it right away. Don't know why they didn't page you up and didn't even clear the highest person on the list.

The gate agent could have fixed that had you requested it.

The norm should be that on the same OP and companion either clear together or not at all. Some GAs will clear only one if asked, or you have the option of splitting the PNR.

I wonder about those three empty FC seats. Why didn't the GA upgrade elites into them and why were the first two people on the upgrade list skipped?

Could this possibly be a YBYL situation with the OP's companion boarding very late and getting the upgrade at that time?

Yup and looking for your co-worker to tell him the bad news while he is doing handstands celebrating should be interesting.
