Never know what you'll see. Saw today at CVG.

There used to be a souvenir display case in SEA with a discrete NWA logo on it... years after the merger. I'll have to check the next time through.

BTW... did NWA ever have much of a presence in CVG?

Just crj service to MSP and DTW. NWA and Continental had a gate in the A Concourse since they were Skyteam members.

Do you remember where in the terminal/which gate(s)? I have tended to stay on the A and S side, but I'll probably be going through the B and C gates in the next couple weeks and wouldn't mind wandering around.

Just a spoke for NW. NW dabbled with focus cities in MKE and IND.

IIRC, it was on the unsecured side near check-in.

Timetables from 2000/2001 show a daily DC9 flight to both MSP and DTW in addition to Avro RJ's and Saab's. NW also had service to MEM on regional partners. NW and CO were partners at that point, but not yet Skyteam members. That didn't happen until 2004.

When was the MEM flight? DL flew MEM-CVG 5X daily usually but never rememebred NWA Airlink operating it.

I wonder if they would be willing to sell this?

Actually, if I had a house in the size I want, I'd like to buy the massive painting that they had in the Crown Room (yes, I still regard it as such... one of the few remaining relatively unmolested) that they took down several years ago.

Two things in this picture you can't see at CVG: Northwest aircraft and Skyline chili.

I find it amusing that Skyline advertises in the CVG airport, despite there only being a Gold Star Chili in the airport and not a Skyline.

Near check-in? I'm shocked that a DL supervisor would allow that. I'm sure there's some standing company policy to not publicly show NWA branding. Similar to AA getting rid of everything US and TWA.

Rumor has it that there is a plaque dedicated to Leo Mullin located somewhere in the connector corridor between concourses A and B at CVG. I'll have to look for it the next time I have a long enough connection.

If you are referring to my post, it was a rather small and discrete metal plate on the upper-right corner of the frame of a display case. Easily overlooked by someone intent on eradicating a proud corporate heritage.
