C+ seats unavailable in app

C+ seats unavailable in app

I’m on 1289 and would like C+, but the app won’t let me change as no seats are available in the seat map. Yet, it shows two seats available in the upgrade list. What’s the trick?

Probably the 2 seats on the bulkhead blocked for special needs passengers. I don't believe those will show as available until the gate (if at all).

What kpbadger said. Delta reserves 2 seats for the gate for special needs. Theoretically they should clear at the gate based on upgrade list priority (if not used for special needs) but the reality is that lazy gate agents will just clear whoever is on the standby list into them (including, ironically, people that may be booked into E - see this thread).

Well, it now shows 4 seats free but none in the seat map. I called and they are all aisle. Oh well...

This might be unrelated, but I've been experiencing a similar problem for all my travel this week.

I use common technique of requesting first class upgrades, but not C+ upgrades, and then selecting C+ seats from the map.

Well this week, no C+ have shown up despite there being 15+ seats showing on the upgrade list. If I check the "request C+ upgrade" box, the seatmap magically populates, but it's only a matter of time before I get a middle seat.

Does anyone know how I can resolve this? I also used to see free first class seats generally match the number listed on the upgrade list, but now I see none, which makes me wonder if my window upgrades will clear. Thanks!

Why not request C+ upgrade, and select one from the map? If there aren't any, uncheck it.
