Need 127 Miles Quickly

Anybody with an idea how to get 127 miles into my wife's account quickly for her to book an award ticket before it's no longer available?

I can transfer from my account but it'll cost $40 via Delta.com
She can buy miles but that's $70.
She doesn't have AMEX so she can't 'Earn Later'
Flying is not an option.

$40 just seems excessive but it's the best 'deal' I've found so far.

Thanks in advance.

You could sign up for one of the services that gets you SM by spending money outside of Delta, like SkyMiles dining.

Delta keeps a list: https://www.delta.com/content/www/en...specialty.html

Keep in mind that points don't always post immediately, if you need them right now your best bet is to buy them.

If your wife has status, she can try calling and asking, if you find someone nice they might be able to help.

Transfer is the only way to get instant miles. All others will require waiting for a statement to post, etc.

Do you have an AMEX account earning Membership Miles?

If so, add her DL FF account as a transfer partner to your MM account. Then transfer -- I think the minimum is 1,000.

I ate at a local Pittsburgh restaurant on Sunday, and I got an eMail from Rewards Network on Tuesday saying that I earned 243 AAdvantage miles . . . but . . . when I check my AA account live, I see that the miles have NOT posted yet.

In my experience, miles earned through the Delta shopping portal lost very quickly - usually within a day of the transaction. If you need the miles faster than that, then buying them or transferring are your only options I'm aware of.

Spg transfers are not necessarily the quickest...depends on airline, I'm sure, but when I transferred to Air France earlier this year for an award booking it took a few days...I was not that patient due to the risk of losing the booking and regret that move.

I'd pay the $70 and be done with it. Post instantly. Though will need to log out and back in if booking via app or web.

Instantly? Buy. Anything else is a risk.

If you want to risk it, does anyone know how quickly SPG stays post? I seem to recall pretty quickly...

Airbnb bookings have posted skymiles for me within 3 days of checking out. For example, checked out Wed, miles posted today (Fri).
Currently a 3 miles per $ promo. You just have to get to Airbnb through deltaairbnb.com.
Sent you a pm with an Airbnb signup link. But if you are a new Airbnb customer, there are better promos.

SkyMiles dining posts very slowly. At least a week, usually more.

I'd buy, or if you have enough miles, just book it out of your account. You're allowed to book awards for other people as long as you're not selling them. And I hope you're not selling it to your wife

Do you have any of the Delta credit cards? You can use Pay with Miles so 1 mile = 1 cent and pay part of the ticket with cash.

This is a great suggestion.
@OP Depending on the price of the ticket I would do the math here.
What's the better deal in your case?
money price @ $0.01/mile
miles price + $40 + taxes&fees
