Boarded B767-300ER through door 2L

A first for me: we boarded the 767-300ER SLC-AMS through door 2L. It was a nice surprise as a D1 passenger. Is this common?

Most of Delta's 767-300ER's don't have a 2L door. There are a few ex-Gulf Air models that do though.

Anytime you can board any aircraft thru door 2L (or multiple doors) the
boarding process goes a heck of a lot smoother and allows the First/Business
cabin to be removed far and away from the coach mayhem !

Had this once in D1 on a JFK-LAX flight. Nice surprise and had to do a double take at first. Wish it were more common DL's 763's.

While I like boarding with 2L, I know I'm not going to like the flight when it's a DL 767. The 767s DL board through 2L are ex-Gulf Air 767s. This means no air vents, and I'm a hot natured person.

I've never boarded through 2L on a 767. Even when I had a JFK-LAX and it had a 2L, they boarded through the front door... and to my unfortunate surprise noticed the lack of the air vents. Luckily there was plenty of room to stretch out and stay cool in D1

From what I understand most agents are just used to always moving the jet way to 1L. Thus even when 2L is usable they don't always remember they can hook up there.

I guess I'm so excited to get where I'm going I don't usually notice which door I go in.

On the 757 it's more rule than exception, but on the 763 is RARE. Those 763s with four doors fwd are quite uncommon.

Thanks, I didn't know that about these and now I will try to avoid. I've only been on one flight without gaspers ever on Swiss Air and it was awful. I know its psychological but it makes me feel like I can't breath.

... then there was the time I was in 2A of a 757 and the GA drove the jetway pretty much directly at me then veered towards 1L, then backed up and corrected to 2L. Fun times
