Pay With Miles and Companion Certificate
We'll be receiving our first Amex Delta Platinum companion certificate in a few months.
Will I able to use Pay with Miles for my ticket and use the companion certificate for the second person? Hoping someone might know what the current rules are.

I don't think that PWM is available when using the companion certificate. I tried to book a companion reservation and couldn't get the PWM option to come up. I did copy this from the terms & conditions of the certificate: "Primary Ticket and Companion ticket must be purchased with your Delta SkyMiles Credit Card from American Express". This seems to imply that the only form of payment eligible for the booking in it's entirety must be a DL SM AMEX.

Yes, and this is strictly enforced. Last year I had a sizable e-credit that was going to expire soon, plus a companion cert that was going to expire soon. I tried to push with phone agents and supervisors, but no luck.
