Downgraded this year to Silver - first time since 1998

Just wondering do you have to request upgrades or is this a bug in the system:

We are unable to process your request at this time. REQUEST UPGRADE FOR FIRST/BUSINESS CLASS If seats are available, you may be upgraded to First/Business class. Seats are automatically assigned. Complimentary Delta Comfort+™ upgrades will be available starting May 16, 2016

lonely being at the bottom again, guess that what happens when you job ends up telecommuting vs onsite.

This has to do with the work setting up system for C+ upgrades. Everything should be good. However to give your mind a rest you can call.

Call.

BTW, you weren't downgraded; you failed to requalify for your previous status level.

Failed is sort of a strong word unless the OP had actively made it a goal to achieve GM or above.

OP, don't worry, no one is special in the Skymiles program anymore.

Out of curiosity- Are you silver because of million mile status? Isn't it better to tele commute and be home?

A distinction without a difference...?

True, and as someone pointed out above, "failed" wasn't a good word to use either. Perhaps a better description of the situation would be to say that the OP simply did not requalify. That's the fact. To me, the word downgraded sounds like it was DL's decision, just like when DL downgrades a passenger from FC to coach.

Regardless, the OP is now silver rather than some higher tier.
