Upgrade eligible when using Pay With Miles?

Ineligible for Medallion upgrades when using Pay With Miles?
I've learned, the hard way, that FT knows more about Delta than Delta does, so rather than relying on Delta, I'm going to ask here first.
Are Medallions with a Delta AMEX card who Pay with Miles... ineligible for complimentary upgrades for the itinerary they PWM'd?
I tried asking Delta, but quickly gave up when the 4th Delta agent I spoke with today said no MQMs with PWMs. No way was I going to trust her with the Medallion upgrade question.
Here is the language on the booking page that motivated my question:
"You've selected a Pay With Miles eligible itinerary. Main Cabin tickets purchased using Pay With Miles may not be eligible for Upgrades. Pay with Miles tickets are eligible for mileage accrual for any portion of the base fare or surcharges paid in currency."

They're treated pretty much like award tickets for upgrade purposes. GM and higher are eligible. No companions.
Edit: Seems times have changed. FO are now also eligible for upgrades on PWM. (But still not on award tickets.)

HOWEVER, at least I learned that PWM is eligible for upgrades. I don't mind being #75 on the list of 89 with only two seats available. Just so long as I'm on the list.
