able to split MQMs across programs (AS, DL) on round trip?

i booked a round trip ticket where ideally i would like to credit the outbound to AS and the return to DL. the flights are about 7 days apart, so i expect the outbound should post before i have to check in for the return.

will DL allow me to do this and will it be possible to change my AS# to DL# at check in for the return flight? upgrade requests, etc are not an issue because the flight is already ticketed in the premium cabins. currently the AS# is in the reservation.

AIUI you can't change the FF# after the itinerary is started, but perhaps others have experience doing so.

In retrospect, booking two one-ways would solve this problem.

half and half

Or remove the FF number from the res, fly the trip, then submit one half to each airline--worth a try.

That would probably mean losing out on the priority boarding / upgrades / check bags etc as you are flying as a nobody....

not a bad idea. if i got into IRROPs i'd just give them my DL PM number on the phone and tell them my TA forgot to enter it when s/he made my booking

really i'd rather not though, prefer to get the credit automated into one program then switch it, if possible. seems like this might be a stretch. i've done it on UA before.

if it was a domestic trip i'd have booked it as one ways, but it's INTL, so the cost would have been astronomical.

Just a wild guess, a call or tweet to DL or AS mentioning your FF number/status would get some action. "And please don't bother to put the number in now; I'm sure you're swamped. I'll get that handled later."
