Is Delta Comfort+ worth the $90 DTW->FRA?

I'm flying DTW - FRA this summer and I am curious if the Delta Comfort+ is worth the $90 each way ($180 total) that they charge?

If anyone could provide their experience/opinion, I would appreciate it.

albo23, welcome to FlyerTalk. Your question is specific to Delta's service on a particular route. Let me move this to the Delta Airlines forum where members familiar with this situation may be able to help. Ocn Vw 1K, Moderator, TravelBuzz.

Absolutely. I think having the extra space alone is worth it for that long of a flight.

Absolutely.

I paid the $90 last year for CDG-SLC, and it was worth every penny. In fact, I dare say it may have been a better value than PE on AF (2013 trip).

Yes, but I would try to sit in rows 16, 17 or 18. The seats next to the restroom get a lot of foot traffic throughout the flight, and the exit rows are cold. Personally I like row 17 the best so that nobody reclines into me.

Absolutely.

I flew it on MAN-ATL back in 2013 at the time it was $80, but the 4 inches of legroom is definitely worth it. Mind you I was on an A330.

Do it now, especially the 17AB, FG seats, as others have mentioned. Easy aisle access as well from the windows assuming you aren't traveling with a companion (can step over legs of seatmate if asleep).

Yes, for many reasons including:

Early boarding
Extra space
Complimentary beer, wine and spirits
First choice for meal entrees
Seating close to the exit door, upon arrival, can be a real time saver

I fly FRA-DTW at least once a year and IMO it's worth it to pay the extra $180,00 for Comfort+. Also you mentioned that you'll be flying in summer. Definitely worth it. ^

I wouldn't do it for a middle seat. But for aisle or window, absolutely!

How tall are you, and do you have access to preferred (the dark blue on the Delta seat map) seats if you don't pay for the Delta Comfort seat?

There is definitely value in C+ for that flight, but how much value depends on your alternatives. If the other option is a middle seat in the back and you're 6'3" then no question. If the other option is a non-middle seat a few rows back and you're 5'3"... then it might not be worth it.
