I'll repeat the question: What information do you have access to that has led to this statement? Or is it just pure speculation? (No problem if it is, just curious)

Are you referring to my post about the discounted upgrade fee? It was posted in a wiki a while back from info provided by a DL rep. I forget the thread, but it was with regards to the 2015 program and skyclub membership changes.

Did I miss an announcement? Any link to Skymiles 2016 program?

For Silver Medallions the only change seems to be a discount on C+ purchased in advance. Guess there wasn't much else they could take from us :(

These are the 2015 benefits, not 2016. Here are the benefits in PDF form. Note the year in the PDF file title.

2016 benefits are still subject to change and have not been published yet.

There was a $145 upgrade option, but that ended on March 1st. There was a recent post about someone who tried to do it prior to the deadline. Can't recall if he was successful, I just remember he had great difficulty finding anyone who knew about it. Edit to add that a recent post indicates that they found someone at Delta who says you can upgrade for $245 now (the current price difference between an Individual and Exec membership).

The so-called $145 upgrade option was never an option, just DL false speak. Agents never knew about it or how to process it. Its difficult enough to find somebody to process paying for an individual to exec upgrade.

Here is the wiki with the (now lapsed, as noted by LBJ) $145 option:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/delta...p-options.html

I upgraded for the $145 fee (and am not the one referred to by LBJ above). It was not easy. In fact, it might have been the most difficult time I have had giving a company money, but it worked in the end.

The one thing that was consistently stated by the agents I talked to is that this has to be done by someone "at Sky Clubs," not the Diamond Desk, not customer care, apparently not even by RA himself. I suggest you ask at the next Sky Club you visit. That is how I started and the agent tried to process the upgrade, but it got hung up at some point. Eight days later, I followed up with Delta and 24 hours later, it was resolved.

Hope this helps.
