Usually means you will not be credited the miles. Often, I've seen that personally, when you have already been credited the miles and request it again. So, the second request (which sometimes appears) is not applicable to mileage earning.

But, if it's KLM/AF flights, be patient. KLM/AF can take up to a week to credit to your account. And, sometimes, the order of crediting is strange. JFK-CDG-AMS, CDG-AMS credited within 24 hours +/-, JFK-CDG credited in 6-7 days.

If you are concerned, you can always submit a manual request. Delta is pretty good at double checking and confirming mileage credit for partners.

Just got this for a flight paid with for Chase UR points. I was under the impression those types of flights earn miles. Is it always the case on Delta that they don't?

I have been regularly seeing this on my spouse's Delta account for Alaska flights where I used a AS Gold MVP guest upgrade certificate or similar mechanism, such as using a companion certificate with a Gold MVP upgrade that also upgrades her to first. This changes the apparent fare basis to U, which isn't on the list of Delta's fare codes that they give credit for. So even though it is a paid ticket eligible for credit, no credit in U. Delta has credited some recent flights when I have pointed this out in emails, but it is getting tedious to continually request credit.

I guess I'll have to give them a call when the second segment of the flight finalizes. The fare classes are listed as X and V, which I thought were standard discounted economy codes.
