Checked baggage rules interpretation
Hi all, I'm a little puzzled by the checked baggage rules for my trip next week. So I am an Alaska MVPG and I purchased my ticket in September. The screenshot below shows the baggage allowance that was displayed on the email I've received with the e-ticket.
I am thinking about checking one bag in PHL with AS either through to HKG or to SEA for the overnight(preferably through). Then checking in another container of seafood in SEA the next day. According to the chart below, IN THEORY, it should be allowed. However, on the DL website, it shows that itineraries to HKG will only be allowed one bag, with the exception that "For tickets purchased on/after April 1, 2014 Between United States...& First originating point of travel in...Hong Kong..." will be allowed two bags for the entire trip. What is that supposed to mean?
What made matter more confusing is that when I called up, the agent, after consulting with her supervisor, said that as Alaska MVP Gold, I will be allowed two free bags free of charge for the entire journey. Now, I don't believe that is the case anymore, but if that's what the agent and her supervisor said, between that and the e-ticket email, will I have a good case if the agent in SEA tries to charge me? Any thoughts?
Thank you all for your help!
