Dear Delta,
Please eliminated the MQD requirements now. Those people does not likes new SkyMiles program. You have to get rid of it now. It's time. Those people who does not reach Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond. Those people had it right to earned the MQM instead of MQD. They don't like new program. Go back to the old way.

AA does not have a qualifying dollar requirement. As you are PHX based, I would suggest moving your flying to them. They would seem to be the most natural fit as they have a hub there. At this point, I do not see DL rescinding the MQD requirement.

MQD are a manifestation of of DL's management fundamental philosophy vis a vis FFs: What have you done for me lately? So, good luck with that.
I've moved some of my travel over to AA already, but won't commit fully until they get their merger kinks worked out.

I pay for ALL OF MY TICKETS out of my pocket. But, I still think the new system is better. I also think that MQDs should be increased for Diamond Medallion; at least $10K. It's way too low currently.

I didn't always feel this way, but, like Obama's, my viewpoint has "evolved". It has especially evolved as my upcoming trip in December-January will be the last one I will ever make on Delta (or any other US airline). All of my future flights will be short hops from TLV to Europe.

Also holding on merger of the programs before I make the complete break from Delta.
I'll have ~$19,000 MDQ (plus a couple $1,600 in change fees that don't count for anything) and I will lose about 20% of my miles under the new program.

Casino marketing is aware of this; you will get offers that are double/triple/quadruple your current (Vegas) offers; but it might take 8 or 9 months.

I say make it $25,000, $50,000, $75,000 and $125,000 with a CC waiver at $250,000. That will thin the herd!

Parker: "To try to change the program (to revenue based) right now would be foolish."
Parker was asked whether American would follow Delta and United in moving to frequent-flyer program based on revenue accrued instead of miles flown. Such a move was "not even on the plate right now," he said. "We have to get the two frequent-flyer programs merged first. If it makes sense to make that innovation, we may do that, but to try to change the program now would be foolish."
Reading between the lines (especially with "right now"), AA may hold off for a year or two, but I bet by the 2017 or 2018, AA will follow the lead of the other legacies and implement an EQD program similar to DL's and UA's (I wonder how close the Citi-AA relationship is to whether there will be a credit card exemption like with UA and DL).
