SDCing - diff rules for DM?

So I'm flying to NY next week, MSP-ATL-HPN (much cheaper then JFK/LGA), mid day flight as I needed to be in town for the morning. Turns out I dont anymore so i tweeted at delta about SDC rules, specifically regarding if i could change to other NY airports. They said no....unless im a DM? I cant find this as a listed rule anywhere on DL.com.....anyone know anything more about it?

The coterminal rules for DM SDC have been documented before but may not actually be found on the DL website. Did you search the forum?

You need to be flexible. When it is convenient for DL to do so, they along with other carriers, consider HPN and even SWF to be NYC co-terminals, however when they have an opportunity to collect some revenue, the two might as well be in another state.

Yea i have no problem keeping my original reservation, just figured if they would allow SDC to co-airports like that, it may be worth me heading to the airport early. Was confused that it was different rules for DM on this as i atleast hadnt heard of it before

SDC to a co-terminal has been referred to as an "unpublished benefit" for DMs.
