Looks like the AF layout, but with better use of the windowless space in front.
I don't mind the 2-2-2 layout... if by yourself, take the center seats or bulkheads. If with someone, take a window/aisle pair.
(As much as I like the direct aisle access from every seat when by myself, when with someone almost all of the DL layouts are bad, with the possible exception of the 75S/763/764.)

I don't know how long we will have 744s, but I am going out of my way to ride in my favorite seat of the entire fleet which I will have this week. I am now deciding between two destinations for 2015 based on whether I can get a 744.

I had 6 rides on the 744 in 2013 but those were all to Asia. In March of this year I rode the 744 to TLV. I then exchanged my LHR ticket to fly to TLV next week.
I would have flown back to TLV in May 2015 if DL would not have dropped the 744 so unless it is brought back into the schedule then I will look at something like DTW-PVG. I already HKG confirmed for May 2015 and I will try to route ATL-NRT to get a nice long ride in the 744.

The Delta 744 is a great ride. I flew them twice in April of this year. BE is the way to go if you can swing it. IMHO, the 16 will survive until 2018-2020 and then they will be gonzo. I really hope Delta buys the 777-300 ER to replace them. I'd bet my next paycheck they will get a sweetheart deal from Boeing for 20 or so frames.

I think most of those who are bemoaning the eventual loss of the 744 are those who fly BE UD. I stick with 73A while others in the major thread on the 744 have their own favorites:

I'll be sorry to see the big birds go, but I also recognize that they're pretty inefficient compared with more modern designs, and will eventually go the way of my other upfront favorites the 707, 727, and DC-10.

I always try for at least two 747 flights a year. Just did DTW to ICN. Was going to book DTW to NGO but got a great deal on SEA - HKG with the A330. Have yet to experience the new flat bed on the 330 so I booked that.
xeno, if u do HKG next year through NRT I believe its a connection to a 767.

I fly the A330 quite often (AMS-BOS-AMS); more often the -300. Really enjoy this aircraft. On both planes, love 2J; since it is far from the galleys and very quiet. But, the only caveat is since they serve (back to front); you are the last to be served (doesn't bother me that much, though the BOS-AMS red-eye flights are quite short, so that might be an issue for some).
7J (and the entire row 7, first row of the mini-cabin) on the -200 has a very nice "extra shelf" that is quite convenient; as is the "mini-cabin." People seem to stay away from the "mini-cabin," so if it's not a totally full flight, is can also be a bit more empty (most recent flight AMS-BOS was half-full in the "mini-cabin," but entirely full in the larger forward BusinessElite cabin).
