IPad
Please be kind to an old person who is not tech minded. I just got an IPad and will be flying on an MD-90 (MSP-ATL)which shows the sign for wifi. It says you have to pay for an internet connection. Can I use my IPad for no cost and be able to connect to something like Bloomberg?

Unfortunately, no. The only thingz you can connect to for free on Delta wifi are Delta.com & eBay.com, that I know of. Maybe Skyteam.com or AmericanExpress? They occasionally do some freebie promos around Christmas.

I believe you can browse Delta, eBay and maybe Amazon for free but not Bloomberg or similar financial sites as far as I know. You have to connect to GoGo using the iPad's wifi settings but to connect to the outside world (other than those sites I mentioned) you would need to pay. The amount would depend on the flight.

Otherwise, purchase wifi in advance of the flight, because it is cheaper to do it that way. You can do this on delta.com inside of your reservation.

The Allstate promo is still running! He/she might be able to get a free 30 minutes just for watching a stupid 30-second commercial.

I've gotten it twice on my BlackBerry, but never on my mini-laptop.
