No Voice Calls on Delta flights

This morning, Delta CEO Richard Anderson issued a memo to all employees which has also been made available to media, etc. that affirms our position of no voice calls in flight. This includes both cellular and internet based voice communications and is in direct response to customer feedback on the topic.

Thanks, DLCorpGuy!

Definitely glad to see DL verbalizing this policy!

What great news. Can we also get those stupid Bluetooth things out of people's ears.

Technology managing a voice call program, and competition, will ultimately force them to re-visit this. It's not over. Just buying time.

No brainer to me. I can see in-flight altercations skyrocketing if phone calls were allowed. While you could use phones previously (e.g. Airfone), they were expensive and very seldom used.

While I appreciate the no call decision, as it means we don't have to listen to people's calls, please explain what impact people wearing Bluetooth devices has on you that makes you want them banned? They are no worse than headphones.

This will have a direct impact on my loyalty. If the FAA is stupid enough to allow voice calling I will spend my cash on airlines that say "enough is enough"

Good Call Richard!
