Question Live TV Range: JFK-SJU?

Quick question: I'm flying JFK-SJU on the 737-800 in a few months. Delta currently shows the aircraft as being equipped with Live TV, but will it actually work on this mostly over-water flight?

No, but you will get free AVOD movies on this flight (DL does this for all flights on domestic AVOD aircraft to Hawaii and the Caribbean).

That's too bad, it seems like the satellites ought to cover that area...

No, the Dish Network coverage does not go that far out into the ocean. It is actually surprisingly well targeted to CONUS geography.

Is Dish not available in Puerto Rico, Alaska or Hawaii?

There are many different satalites, technologies and frequencies up there. That these areas can get service under "Dish Network" does not make it the same as the service being received in the mainland.

Oh well. But I'm glad the regular AVOD is complimentary. Thanks all!
