PM same-day confirmed changed can change route?
Available fare classes can be checked on ExpertFlyer? (going to check)

Yes, you should be able to change to any routing that's legal for your fare.
You can check fare class availability on EF or try a dummy booking (for free) on delta.dumb using advanced search, search for fare class or higher.

If you are currently on a non-stop route, many fare rules often require the non-stop routing. Yes, it's possible the agents will waive the fare rules for you, but technically they don't have to.
