Does this flight exist?????
One leg of one of my upcoming flights on Delta (ORD to DTW) does not appear when I enter that flight number into my Flight Track app. Instead Flight Track shows it to be an ATL to IAD flight at a totally different time. When I Googled the flight number, it shows that it changes to this intinerary beginning June 30th. Why has Delta not notified me of this change???? It still shows as originally scheduled on my "Delta trips". Should I just wait until Delta lets me know that the flight has been changed or should I be pro-active and call them to find out about this likely change in flights.

I'm not familiar with your flight track app, but, why do you think it's more accurate than viewing your schedule live on Delta.com? Also, do a timetable / schedule search on Delta.com to see what's there.

I've noticed a number of cases recently where DL changes the flight number but the scheduled times remain intact. Sometimes it's scary if you try to watch the flight status some days in advance to see what gates are typically used and whether it tends to be on time or not.

Since I always enter my flights into this app and flights always appear, even months in advance, I was surprised when this flight did not show up, and a totally different flight came up. My flight, which appears on the Delta website, is DL#4936. Whatever happens, I know Delta will come up with an alternative flight, if they change flights around, and I realize I can change my flight if what they offer does not work for me. I do have to connect to another flight, so the time of this first leg is important.

This just happened to me today actually (sort of)... I used my confirmation e-mail from Delta to enter flight numbers into my app and one of them was not coming up because apparently the flight number had changed (which I found out after I logged on to D.com). For a moment I was wondering if something major had changed and I didn't know about it, but my itinerary is mostly the same plus or minus a few minutes.

Thanks for the info. The Delta website shows DL#4936 - ORD to DTW departing at 10:35 AM on 7/28. Putting DL#4936 in the Google search box shows DL#4936 as ATL to IAD at 4:00 PM. I know flight numbers change and times change as well. The Flight Tracker app has always displayed the changes. In fact, I've often noticed the change there when the flight numbers "gray" out, indicating that it is no longer a valid flight as listed.

Thank you for checking. I'm going to assume that DL#4936 exists as it is posted until I learn otherwise from Delta. If it changes between now and July 28th, I'll deal with that as necessary. Thanks!

Even if there is a flight number and/or time change, particularly on THAT popular route, there's likely to be a flight plus or minus of 10 minutes from the original flight.

Thank you. This is extremely helpful! I wonder if the flight apps only have the current flight numbers and cannot know about or anticipate these future changes. On this app (Flight Tracker), I am able to enter flights months in advance (I know other apps only allow people to enter flights within a two-week window).
