Someone else had reported in a week or two ago, but I can indeed confirm this sign at least is in place at the main and south clubs at DTW. (I'd assume they are at all three!) I almost went to the desk just for funsies to ask about paying for a third drink.

Wait, you are supposed to use the SMALL glasses for drinks? I wouldn't be shocked to see folks filling up empty Big Gulp cups, however.

Exactly! And at DTW it's a good idea anyway because on a busy day if you get up to get a drink refill, you may return to find your seat gone!

Only my second glass...

Awaiting snarky comment from bubbashow where he thinks I'm serious instead of making a Family Guy reference.

..just glad I'm not party to this anymore. My membership has lapsed, and I doubt very much that I'll ever renew. Too bad, really. I agree with the most recent changes (Amex limits on guest, etc...), but to pay now $695 a year for swill?

I’m willing to meet you at your choice of sites provided I can work into a trip to the area, if not, any hub airport will do.

You pick five gins, vodkas, rums or scotch. You pick which you think you know the best. You can drink (blindfolded) all five mixed with the same mixer if you are a wimp, or if you really are an expert you must drink all five neat.

Our bet. Simple, I will give you $100 for each of the brands you correctly identify. You give me $100 for each brand you miss. $200 if you miss the Gordon’s.

So let’s just say it is time to put up or shut up. I promise you that you will lose and it just proves that you have bought into the marketing hype from these companies and the irony is you choose to do so.

Why am I so sure? Grew up drinking good brown water (bourbon) and whiskey. I missed all five……twice……in the same challenge and it cost me a lot more than $100 a shot.

Worse case is you lose a couple hundred bucks, have the results posted here for all to see and five free shots..........

Going to resurrect an old thread here. Finally met longing4piedmont today. We had a nice lunch at Café Felix in Ann Arbor. While the challenge didn't go exactly as envisioned, I was able to identify a lesser vodka as not being Gordon's, and not being premium. Thanks Piedmont....great meeting you!
