Write DL and they will give you 10K sky pesod for your troubles... Want an unclustered line, pay for one! |

Right, so if you pay $10000 to fly ATL-FLL (ignoring that full F is way less) it doesn't matter if DL gives you a shiny card or not, which is why pure spend indexing is unnecessary.

Agreed. All GM and FO upgrades should be at the battlefield so that DMs and PMs that buy within the upgrade window can get the upgrade inventory first.

That may be the determining factor for me. |

What enhanced benefits? You do know that "enhanced" on DL means "we've taken something away but for some reason we think you'll like it better anyway" right?

I wouldn't be surprised if at some point (2014 earning for 2015?) Deltamex makes the waiver of MQDs and the spend bonus MQMs available only for holders of the Reserve card.

Here is why.
FO and GM siphon benefits. I just purchased a last-minute DTWLAX and there were no upgrade seats. I know - WF, BF. However, why should I (a Platinum) on a VERY, VERY, VERY high fare (yes out of my pocket) be sitting in back because a GM got a window upgrade? THIN THE HERD so those paying the bills get the perks. |

Anyone catch the SkyPriority security at DTW this morning? THAT is why the herd needs to be thinned. Line went all the way to the north wall of ticket lobby. I went to regular security and saved time. Why? So a bunch of cheapos can have a shiny card and take benefits away from those that at least pay their share?
DL has itself to blame for cramming Medallion tiers with "best-in-class" rollovers which they're too embarrassed now to roll back. What cpm goals were revenue warlocks expecting when you could start off a year with 48,593 MQMs without stepping on a Delta plane? This is their do-over. http://thepointsguy.com/wp-content/u...PM-300x189.png They thought millions MORE of these would supply financial buoyancy. |

Found this interesting. On rollover, I already have 2015 status, earned under the old rules, however In order to keep it I now still have to meet the spend requirement? I won't have a problem doung so, but surprised they can do this.
WHAT IF I ALREADY HAVE ENOUGH ROLLOVER MEDALLION QUALIFICATION MILES (MQMS) TO QUALIFY FOR 2015 MEDALLION STATUS? DO I STILL HAVE TO EARN MEDALLION QUALIFICATION DOLLARS (MQDS)? If a member has enough Rollover MQMs to qualify for 2015 Medallion status, he or she must still meet the MQDs threshold by spending on Delta flights in 2014 to qualify for status in the 2015 Medallion year. I have received pushback from those offended by the suggestion that DL management would pull something over on the customer. Well, there are going to be a number of folks who provided DL business, and accumulated vast totals of MQMs, who are not going to be able to use those MQMs according to the rules that were in place when the PAX made their decisions of whether to continue MQM accumulation, or go to another airline. |
I'm a GM who does PDX to JFK 11 times a year, usually on Saturday. I should just squeak in under the new rules, but it will be tough to gauge how close I am throughout the year as the price of my ticket fluctuates fairly wildly depending on the month. Last year I paid between $250 (Feb) and $600 (Dec) for my ticket. With a miles only system at least I knew exactly where I stood in terms of qualifying.

I'm so terribly sorry that so many of you placed so much value on a marketing scheme. I am filled with pity that your self worth is based on a card. Its truly awful so many of you got to flyF for free by taking advantage of rules that allowed, but never intended for the way they were used.
The same people that cant afford the new program are most of the same that have complained about FCM. that may be your saving grace in the new program....an economical way to pay for the services you desire. |
