You guys are really something else, I tell ya. Lets be realistic, silver means nothing, bc you get the same benefits just from having the Amex minus pref seating and possible upgrades (which is a joke)

second off gold members ya 50000 miles isn't chump change but your prolly not gonna make or break deltas bank account, not platinum and diamonds you, you are the ones who affect this whole play out.

The platinum group is the largest on the airline, and honestly the most arrogant and rude. Some of you pay out of pocket some of you use a corporate account, I don't really care whose card I'm running as long as you can verify the security code and billing address and that my little screen says approved. Delta is a business, we don't care where the money comes from as long as its coming. && news flash to everyone saying the "kettle" is what is paying the bills your wrong its the " high value customers". If your a plat and u fly your 75k mqma and you spent less then the new mqd to cover those flights then go ahead and do the math to see what it's worth bc let me break it down for you all are costing delta as an airline,
******THINK LONG AND HARD**** -Bag waivers, 25 first bag 35 second then if your bringing a 3rd-10th lol well just go ahead an but your own private jet. Most of the time your going on a trip for pleasure we wind up compin your bags your wife's bag your 4 kids bags the neighbors bag your mail mans bags. So please do not argue that these benefits mean nothing if delta in return is asking you to spend a select amount their airlines. -economy comfort hmm anywhere from 30.00 to? 70 domestically? 60-200 internationally. Once again go back and add up all the times you would have had to pay for that without your status and don't forget to add your entourages too, since we foot that bill as well. The free drinks in international alone could save millions. -change fees waivers and favors. Yes technically you pm and Dm members are supposed to pay, but how many times do you get that waived? Or a fare diff reduced? Bc of your "loyalty" to delta. Dm especially lol you tell them they have a change fee and they act as if this is their first flight ever "excuse me I'm a diamond damn medallion member I don't pay that" ohhh but you do, but for the most part you cry and complain so much they just go ahead and waive it to get you off the phone. -UPGRADES this is one everyone loves!!!! Complimentary upgrades, yet you people who purchase key word being purchase throw a hissy fit when you don't get something that is base upon availability!!!! How dare us not give your your blankly and pillow with your woodfords on the rocks when you didn't pay for it the nerve of this airline by golly ill tell you!!! Ha jokes aside, not only do we upgrade you we upgrade your colleague your wife your brother sister, simply bc they're with you and we value your loyalty. So go ahead and once again gm and silvers this rant really isn't for you but pm and diamond add up every time your but was in a f or j seat and didn't pay for it, the difference between the two fares is jaw dropping but hell we still give it to you, up to 5 days before departure even though, there very well could've been someone who would have paid for a first class ticket last minute within a 5 day span before departure. -also for every ticket you booked with one of our "ignorant agents, bc face it we work at a call center" go ahead and add 25.00 to each one of those as well, do not pass go and do not collect 200.00 dollars either. P.s most agents have at least an associates degree, the pay is ridiculous but the benefits are amazing!!!! :) for the most part were just a bunch of public relations, communication, business management degree holders who start here and never leave. With all that being said, and I'm not even gonna touch on the bonus mqm bc quite frankly you should get 100% as ff and EVERY level of medallion should earn an extra 25% not an extra 150% that part still baffles me! You complain about mid level pricing yet half of your miles or more are from you calling and complaining or from your mqm bonuses so im going need you all to go take a seat -___- Point of this story is, if you don't find enough value in the above products to spend your selected amount of money, then go somewhere that you believe is giving you more bang for your buck. Delta doesn't really need you. Delta is striving to make a program for loyal customers who are loyal and PROFITABLE to them. If it were only about loyalty they would send you all the other half to a best friends bracelet when they are sending out their medallion credential packages! But they don't so either pay up or ship out and make room for the loyal passengers who are not only continuing to being loyal but *** ding ding ding, making delta money. It's not about one or the other, this is a two way street. Do they want loyal customers? Well of course everyone loved everyone at cheers! But when your loyal customers are effecting your bottom line an costing more then they are bringing in, well it's time to go. Sorry that so many of you are so incredibly insulted by the changes but to be honest no one cares go do a status match take your miles and convert them, do whatever the heck you wanna do. Because that's what delta gonna do, so since your not tied with a ball and chain to airline I suggest you get off ft and start looking on google at the other airlines customer service numbers and getting some info as to what they can offer you. You ft folks have a great day, and thank you again for choosing delta! ;) |

DL isn't losing any money as the airline has been operating at a profit Flights are mostly full, pax are filling those seats. This is DL simply trying to see if they can get more $$ out of Medallions and attacking the cpm culture, seriously don't you think we have have other tools to calculate cpms? Removing the miles earned portion from your site and you think that will prevent us from buying the best MQM ticket? Lmao. I will use DL as long as the relationship suits me, when it does not bring the value I seek, I will look elsewhere. If you think things are bad now, wait until you create a truely entitled class of Medallions, and these changes will stick ONLY if the other carriers (UA and AA) follow suit. Coming on a frequent flyer site and telling some members that DL doesn't need them is a great PR move DL (snark) way to go girl! PS so what happens after DL "thins the herd" and decides to reduce more bennies, who will you blame then? What if there is no PM/DM frequent flyer utopia? |

Flydeltajets87 I apologize if my previous statement made you feel that delta does not care about your loyalty bc they do, I'm happy that as a silver your were successful with upgrades and in general seem to value the program! However this post was directed after reading all 109 pages since the day this came out on ft, medallion members mostly pm and dm have bashed deltas name, service, and program into the ground. The problem is simple, the old format worked once upon a ton, however there are far to many passengers who currently have status with delta that simply do not belong. While you may have "played the game legally" the game is now changing. The program has gotten out of hand to a point where many of these angry members are so quick to point out that a delta diamond should be 26 down on an upgrade list. But they're the very ones fighting this change. As an airline unfortunately there are just a surplus of elites who regardless of how they obtained it or not, are wasting space as preferred customers. They are doing no benefit to delta yet would like delta to pick them up on the Tarmac in a Porsche. It's simple, this is a partnership, both parties need to gain something from the other in order for it to work. This is a business, and at the end of the day it's not a nonprofit organization delta has quotas and bottom lines to meet as well. By no means is any sky mile member medallion or not, under any type of contract that they must continue this partnership with delta. There are choices but delta isn't going to lose nearly as many people as this silly thread seems to think, however I'm sure management is more then pleased with their decision because based on the comments here, it appears delta will drop exactly the type of "loyal" customers they need to in order to bring the real benefits of this program back. |
I am in love with Deltagirl22.

I'm not a delta snark, coming on a website and standing up for a company who is blatantly being bashed by its so called member is what I'm doing. It has nothing to do with arrogance, the amount of egos in this thread could fill the universe tenfolds. It has to do with a business plan that will further benefit those who once again LOYAL, & DESERVING of said benefits.

Look, I am unhappy about the M fares not getting the 50% MQM bonuses, but I will have to live with that. I might go to B fares, I might go to another airline, I might travel to Europe instead of to the States, but I am not going to bemoan the fact that I can no longer get an extra that I have gotten in the past. Mickey D gives me free ketchup when I buy a hamburger. Should it decide to charge me for it, I won't be screaming about that either. |

You have zero proof for your hypothesis, but I'll remind you of the last time Delta "acted" with 50% MQMs - no one else followed and Delta was forced to rescind their hateful changes.
I sincerely hope Delta gets financially slammed for this poor decision. I'll further wager that even if these changes are integrated into Delta IT, the Award Calendar will remain as dysfunctional as ever. Apparently some of our members are too young to know about this internet movement that was started on the DL forum of FT. In addition many of our older members have a case of short term memory loss. :) PS, I was the person that took those beautiful pictures of the rolling billboard circling The Plaza Hotel in NYC during DL's annual shareholder meeting and also driving around the inner roadway of DL's LGA terminal. :D |

I LOVE YOUR POST and am SOOOOOOOO glad real benefits will be back. I will easily make the PM spend and think that ANYONE who can't make these VERY, VERY, VERY small thresholds is elite only in their mind. |

I do find it rather interesting but I'm going to assume that was a stab at me and delta for employing me... But hey whatever's making your morning better. Either way I'm still going on the upgrade list, checking 2 bags free, and using the priority line at the airport. Thanks to the employment of DELTA....
