Change Fee Clarification

Merry Christmas to all...

Simple change fee question, as I am starting to book travel for 2013. :

- Cancelled ticket credit from 2012 : $ 385
- Itinerary Fare : $ 350

Will the charge/add collect be $ 150 for the change fee, or, $ 115 for the change fee minus difference in fare., which in this case is to my advantage.

Yes. Look at it as your current ticket ($385) is really now worth $235 (because of the $150 chg fee). The new tkt is $350, so there is an add collect of $115.

If you log into your SM account, and go to "My Wallet", look at your eCredits, and it should tell you exactly how much your credit is currently worth, including any penalties already deducted.

dave,

Thought that should be the case, but, the credit was not included in My Wallet. Fortunately, per numerous FT threads, I retained the ticket #. Based upon the clarification from DELTAFF, maybe I should save/apply the unused amount for a real inexpensive itinerary. Just curious, has the policy always been as stated by DELTA - been a while since I've had a credit for a cancelled itinerary, and I seemed to recall DL not applying the lower fare against the change fee.
