Request Upgrade on Delta.com

Request Upgrade on Delta.com
I have been grounded from travelining since the hurricane, and now starting to take flights again. I noticed that I now have to "request upgrade" on the new Delta.com when I check in online. How come it isn't automatic anymore?

I think the logic is you might be sitting next to someone who can't get upgraded. You might want to stay there.

How was the reservation booked? If via Delta.com were you logged in at the time? For most bookings upgrade requests are still automatic.

Is the upgrade showing as properly requested before OLCI? You want to have a chance of getting the upgrade at your window, not just at the gate.

Others have noted the same issue when booking on delta.com via Kayak.com.

I have not seen this. All my upgrade requests have been automatic and have stayed in place through check-in.
