Earning Status Quick Probation Programs

I remember back in the day they had a program called probation???

You could call Delta and they would let you earn status by completing like 10k miles in like 6 months???

I recently started a new job and haven't been in the game for a while.

Sorry if the question is boring to the Pro's.

Hey Welcome to Flyertalk!

They offer that for status challenging from another airline. Check this site out for the details

Welcome to FT.

Most of the airline offers of status matches and status challenges (as DL does) require that you already have status in some competing carrier (normally not in the same alliance) on their list. Some of these programs let you sue the new status during the challenge period, which seems to be what you mean by probation.

I just status matched to united 1K and have 90 days to accrue 35,000 elite premier whatever they call them miles. I'll have this done in 60 days or less though. You want to time your status match with big trips. I'm going to Rio for new years and Aruba in January both biz class on UA and pretty much those two round trips get me very close to 30,000 and throw in a couple biz trips I'm golden

Several months ago, anticipating a change in the travel patterns of our long-distance marriage, I contacted Delta to ask about a status challenge for my wife. They gave me a flat no. They will status match (but I think only once per traveler) but you have to have status on the other carrier, and I think only UA, AA, and US count.

By "status challenge" I meant that she would not have status immediately, but would get it by completing a lesser requirement in a shorter period of time, like 10 segments in 90 days. But they would not consider it.
