Unable to enter API information on Delta.com

Hi,
I am traveling to US with Delta, using an US VISA. But on the Delta website, I cannot find how to enter my API information (passport number,VISA number etc.), I can only enter my gender, day of birth, and US address. Is this sufficient? I would be surprised if the US authorities do not ask your passport and visa number beforehand...

AFAIK, this data will be requested at check-in. Depending on your specific visa, you can put your A-number into the secure flight information but that is as far as it goes before check-in. There is no way of entering this data earlier or even store it - every time you fly DL you have to do it again. I know, I know this is for my own protection but since I have been forced to disclose this data to DL more than a 100 times, I sincerely doubt that.

And can one fill during the online check-in or I will have to go to the desk? I am travelling from CDG.

Impossible to say. Even after three years of flying DL more than 125k miles a year, the check-in is still spotty at best. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. If it doesn't work, you can use either one at CDG, the kiosk or the desk. There will be another document check at the gate in which they frequently re-check your documents in particular visa (such as green cards, etc.). Be also prepared of some public pat-down and carry-on search.
