We are planning a trip from Bismarck ND to Seattle. We would like to fly on July 18 and come back on July 28. Skymiles for those dates are 40,000 round trip. I have 64,500 and my wife has almost the same. This is enough for two tickets but would like to get another for our daughter who will be two and a half in July. Does anyone know how to combine some of the miles for the third ticket without the high transfer fee? I signed my wife up for the American express card to get her an extra 30,000 miles. Don�t think I will get the first bill until the end of the month so that makes the miles coming maybe some time early Feb. Do you guys think the 40,000 skymile charge will go up by then? We are holding out on hotel rooms until flights are finalized. This waiting part is little stressful.

The awards calendar changes constantly - just keep checking. Seattle weather is warmest and driest in July and August. Last year coach award tickets were 80,000 miles each two months out, so we ended up using a companion cert. 40,000 may be the best you get. Welcome to Flyer Talk!

i would check the cost of purchasing the 3rd ticket.....if not a back breaker, i would get the 2 now for child & one of you....& wait for the mi to post to get the 3rd or buy if necessary....
