Exit row zone

Silver here. Just checked in. Since when is bulkhead zone 2? Used to be 1.

I was wondering the same thing. Last month on my ATL-SAN I was Zone 1. Same seat this month now Zone 2. A few months ago the same seat was Zone 2. Prior to that it was Zone 1 (Exit Row 18 on a 757). Seems every few months it changes. Now they want to charge for it!

It doesn't appear to be random but rather some sort of policy change. I actually posted about this two weeks ago when I was assigned Zone 2 for the exit row on two flights. Up until then I flew exit row frequently and consistently got Zone 1. I asked a customer rep about this and she told me to get the Delta Gold AmEx if I wanted priority boarding!

I have the Amex Plat and it didn't matter, sometimes Zone 1 and sometimes Zone 2. I think they just come up with a new policy every few months. "Totally random" is my second guess!

One perhaps self-evident thing to add from my experience in the last couple of months: if you're upgraded on any segment of your trip, the Sky Priority benefit extends to the coach segment and we lowly FOs get to slip in Zone 1.

How is that possible? I've gotta call 'glitch' on this one if you're in zone 3 but PM as your profile says.
