Help needed using miles from Fla to Paris

Is there any way I can use my Delta miles to fly AF to Paris Sept. 2012.
When I look up using Delta miles for 9/23/12, the amount of miles is ridiculous.
Is there any way I can go using just 50,000 for business class/first only.
thanks.

Not on Delta. The lowest amount of miles for business to Europe is 100k for a round trip. DL doesn't offer one-ways for 1/2 price.

Just got quoted 140,000 miles + $292 (taxes) for BC flight September 2012 from Miami to Paris and back. Can I do better or is this a good deal?

What are your dates, and how flexible are they?

You should be able to get round-trip BE for 100K.

Is this BE with FC domestic connections for all segments? I suspect that 140,000 could be calculated as RT low TATL in BE plus a domestIc medium connection in coach. Be careful.

Exactly what it looks like to me. AF has pretty good availability for BE at 100K out of Miami, even on the cited dates into CDG and out of LHR (connecting at CDG). It seems to be the additional domestic leg that is raising the mileage requirement.

Sorry, let me be more clear. It is a coach seat from tampa to miami conecting into Business overseas. Should I get a cheap fare to maimi and just use miles from there?

Yes, that is what I would have done.
That will ensure that the BE seat MIA-CDG-MIA is obtained at the low award level of 100k skymiles each.

Even if you use the rate of one cent per mile, 40,000 miles for a normal coach ticket purchased far in advance seems like a lot. It should not be hard to find a fare that is less than $400 for most domestic coach routes.
