oops!
So, I booked a flight from MSY to DTW with a connection in ATL.
Now the wife is coming along with me, and I'm booking her ticket with miles.
My exact flight is 50Kmiles but its 25 K miles if we leave on the same outbound but she takes an earlier connection.
My ATL to DTW flight is on a 77L and it's mostly empty.
So Im thinking of booking the 25K miles ticket and letting her "oops" miss her connection, and then get rebooked on my flight.
Thoughts???

If it's a long enough connection to easily make it, and she misconnects for no apparent reason (i.e. flights were on time, etc.), the GA may be less than helpful. At a minimum, you should be prepared to pay the $50 SDC fee (unless she's a GM or higher).

Also, try SDC at MSY with the GA or Check-in counter. I have done free SDC and even gotten companion upgrade on an award ticket. Companion was a non-medallion.
God Bless ATL Red coatscustomer service desk in ATL has some super-nice agents as well, goodluck!!
