Miles Transfer.

I have about 86,000 Delta Skymiles which Expire in November, Is there any way to transfer miles into Emirates Skywards?

I have looked into Hilton Honor Points but If the Honor Points expire every year then I thought it'll be a big risk? Since I use Emirates more often than skyteam airlines now I thought I should change to Skywards..

I've been a member of NWA WorldPerks since 1996 but since they got merged I don't bother keeping up the Miles on Skymiles, Prefered to stay on Worldperks or change to Skywards...

SkyMiles do not expire anymore. Nevertheless, there is no way to transfer them to Emirates.

oh yea! I Didn't know thei do that now.. Thanks.. but Is there any way to change Miles? I've not flown with any Skyteam airlines for very long time and 87,000 Miles can get me upgraded to Business class on Emirates for 3 segments.

Although this would be a welcome addition, you can only use your DL miles for awards on SkyTeam and DL partners (so no Emirates).

I ment if the 86,000 Miles were Skyward instead of Skymiles. Even if there is a way to transfer miles to skywards in any way im sure Ill lose few thousand miles.

Welcome to FT.

First off, not all mileage programs are created the same. Some miles are worth more than others. In fact, looking at the Skywards program, they seem like really tough points to earn while Skymiles (or Skypesos, as we call them around here) are pretty easy. For example, if I wanted to fly to India from LAX on the cheapest fare possible, I would earn 8,000 Skywards points. On the cheapest fare on Delta, and depending on the routing, I could earn upwards of 21,000 Skymiles (which is pretty close to the lowest elite tier; you would actually earn >26,000 Skymiles if you had that lowest tier elite status).

Thus, 86,000 Delta Skymiles can be achieved by 3 of these round-trips plus a few cheap domestic flights. However, 86,000 Emirate Skywards points would require about 11 round-trips at the cheapest fare.

Delta Skymiles cannot be transferred to other mileage/points programs (that I know of, at least), but 86K can still take you places. This is the Skymiles award chart -- keep in mind that those numbers are the miles required for a one-way ticket, but you can only redeem round-trip, so double each number.

While there is a low/medium/high availability, if you can find a Skyteam partner award seat, it'll be at the low level, so check out their list of partners.

Much better off trying to redeem the SkyMiles for an award instead.

If you start with 86K Skymiles, how much do you end up in Skywards miles?
