Sky Club Meeting reservation & gate pass

Call Delta Sky Club/Regus (1-800-496-2225) and schedule a meeting in the Sky Club for an hour ($50). You will be emailed a meeting confirmation letter, print it out, take to the gate agent, and get your gate pass. I've done this MANY times. It gives specific information on the email to the gate agent to grant you a gate pass and how to verify if needed, but the email has always been acceptable enough for me!

Well I actually had legit meetings there with transiting clients, so it wasn't bad for me to rent the room, keeping the client from having to pass security, etc.

I just checked into this as well, as Toddler Cellisttoo is flying to MSP-XXX tomorrow with her Grandparents. Her Grandparents are flying YYY-MSP-XXX and have a 1/2 hour connection time.

I called the PM line (as Toddler Cellisttoo is PM) and they made a note in her record and told us that we can get 1 get pass. They said that they might make an exception at the ticketing counter and give us two, but they stated that official policy is 1. If Mr. Cellisttoo cannot get through as well, I am going to try the "he needs to accompany his elderly parents who only have a 1/2 connection line and also point out that if the elderly parents miss the connection, so does Toddler Cellisttoo, who is too young to fly unaccompanied." We will see.

So, for minors, the official policy is one gate pass.

Now I just need to figure out how to get Grandma on the companion upgrade list. Otherwise ToddlerCellisttoo is going to be lonely up in F by herself (since her upgrade cleared at the window). If the companion doesn't clear, Grandpa can always take the seat, or we can give it away to some poor silver at the gate.

At least in the past when I have done this you need to make the reservation >24 hours ahead of time. The advantage used to be that you can get multiple people beyond security. I have not done this in the past few years- anyone have more recent experience?

Like I mentioned, I've done it many times, but all for legit meetings, not as make shift meet & greet gate passes. I've booked one a few hours before one time, and they called the SC to inform them since it was short notice. Shouldn't be a problem...

What about the multiple people? Can you get multiple people through for a meeting like you could back in the NW days?

THis week MSP-RST is over $800, but I tried some of the other likely suspects (MKE $500+, DEN $700) and ORD is $400, which just might be our fall back plan tomorrow.

My last meeting at a Sky Club involved 3 people getting gate passes...it was absolutely no problem. My meeting confirmation was my magic ticket airside!

PAF room

Well back in the good old days when I worked for Cargill and the PAF room was next to security 6 and they let non-business travellers in...I got a pass many times with little to no hassle (sometimes 2-3 for the wife or kids) to see my parents on their layover from small town Michigan to Arizona.

I have not tried since changing jobs or when they downgraded the PAF room to business travel only and made it shell of what it was.

I guess this year, if I'm in town and they fly Delta I'll try to travel on the same day as them.

Of course, Delta doesnt seem to give them many MSP connection options anymore (all via Atlanta), so I expect they will fly through Chicago on United or the like.

ds

*PAF room is for certain preferred accounts like Cargill, 3M, etc in the twin cites.

Call the PM line and ask. (That's all it took for me, traveling with a companion for part of a trip last week.)

So here is how it went down today: Toddlercellisttoo flashes her PM card at the entrance to the Skypriority check in area. We all troop through. She then hands over her PM card to the ticketing agent to check her bag (having no government issued ID, herself).

The agent then issues TWO gate passes, one for me and one for Mr. Cellisttoo, and we are on our happy way.

The companion upgrade for Grandma did not clear. She was #3 for two seats (didn't get her on the list before the 24 hour mark, not sure if it would have helped). Since she was also last on the list, we just handed Grandpa the boarding pass and she and Toddlercellisttoo sat in the little seats in the back.

Mom and Dad were able to see ToddlerCellisttoo get her cockpit tour right after she boarded.

If anyone was at MSP this a.m. and saw a miniature little DL pilot in full uniform, that was ToddlerCellisttoo.

Missed the President by an hour.

That's for sure worth a picture!

I hope ToddlerCellisttoo filed her complaint with the DOT regarding DL's T-72 enhancements...

Toddlercellisttoo has yet to redeem a ticket, as a FTer in training she prefers to accrue RDMs instead. And, for those, she can same day change.
